Christmas Time!

Wow, how the time has gone by! I can't believe that Christmas is in less than a week! Things have been pretty crazy for us the last month between Dustin finishing the semester and me helping my mom out with catering! This month has just flown right by! Camden is getting so big and so funny! He is almost seven months old. He is not crawling yet, but will scoot forward a foot or so before crying or rolling over. He loves to stand and is very brave, always trying to stand on his own. And much to my disappointment, on Tuesday he said "Da da". I was hoping to get the first word, but I think "Da da" is so much easier! He says it all day long, and when he is getting really angry he screams it in this high pitch raspy voice. It is hilarious!!

He also has a lot of funny tricks. He blinks his eyes when you blink at him. His favorite thing to do is shake his head back and forth when I say "no no". Unfortunately, we say it all the time because it so so funny, so when I am seriously trying to tell him no, he just shakes his head back and forth :) He loves to mimick everything we do. He coughs and screams and loves to mimick. His newest trick is tilting his head to the side. I was looking at him the other day and he started tilting his head to the side while he was looking at me. I thought, "what is he doing?" Then I realized I had my head tilted to the side while I was looking at him! It is so cute when he does it! Unfortunately, I haven't caught it on camera yet.

Here are some pictures of the last little while...

Daddy trying to make Camden a mini Redskins fan...

Camden is eating us out of house and home!! This kid loves to eat and only refuses green beans and peas :)

Our best stocking stuffer ever!!

We took Camden to temple square to see the lights. He loved it! He was so amazed looking at all the lights and had lots of fun with my family. Below is a pic of our family, Camden with Grandpa Rick, and one of Camden.

4 Months Old

Okay, so Camden is really 4 months and 2 weeks now, but it has been a crazy time for us! I can't believe that Camden is already almost 5 months old!! He is so much fun and has the cutest personality. He is all smiles and giggles and LOTS of stories. He just jabbers all the time. It is so cute. We love him so much!! So, at his four month appointment he was 14 lbs 5 oz and 26 in long. He is pretty much average on weight, but he is long! He is just a long skinny boy! So, here are some random pics that I love...

Our happy baby!!

We have taken Camden on several hikes this summer. These pics are from our hike to Cecret Lake. He is getting the hang of it and usually just sleeps :)

Daddy likes to sit him up in the chair and prop the paper on his lap. It actually entertains him for a little while...especially if there are any bright pictures. This particular day, he was reading the Money and Investing section of the Wall Street Journal :)

Dustin's new favorite game. Camden loves it too...he giggles and smiles. He thinks he is pretty big stuff!

I will end with a picture of Camden in one of my favorite outfits. He is the best dressed in this house!! I love playing dress up now that its getting cold and I have new clothes to put him in. As you can tell from his expression, he loves playing dress up too!!

We are all doing well. I am just chillin at home with Camden, trying to learn this whole take care of the baby, pay attention to him and enjoy him, AND clean the house...I really struggle with the cleaning the house part because I love playing with him so much more than cleaning! Dustin is back in school and we don't see him for days at a time :( One year to go and he is done!! We are counting down. Other than that, we are just living each day and enjoying every new thing Camden does!

Update

Wow! How quickly life passes when you have a little one! Camden is already two and a half months old!! We can't belive it. He is doing so well and is such a fun and happy baby. He is so smiley and coos and talks all the time. However, it is still basically impossible to catch his smile on camera! We have a lot of fun trying though:)

Life is really good. Our lives totally revolve around Camden and his "schedule" for the day. People will call and ask me what my plans are for the next day and I can't ever plan much in advance because everyday is a new adventure!! Anyway, here is some pictures and an update of our life...sorry if it is really long!!

Camden loves his cousins Alex and Maddie!!

Alex and Camden chillin on Grandma's bed.

Camden and Maddie love to look at each other and talk to each other. We think they love to talk about how rough it is to be babies!!

Camden's blessing day...

We took about twenty pictures and he would smile between all of them!! None were caught on camera. Below is as close as we got!

The fam

So as many of you know, Camden is a morning baby. Once he is up, he is up. Mommy, however, has a really hard time in the mornings now that her sleep is always disrupted. So, our morning routine is when Camden decides it is time to get up (usually somewhere between 5:30 and 7:00), Daddy brings him into me and I feed him and let him talk and play for a while as I try to keep my eyes open, and then as soon as he gets bored, I cuddle him and try to get him back to sleep and then just let him sleep in our bed and I sleep on the other side of the bed....well, to say the least, for such a little guy he is already a bed hog! I don't know how he did it, but he started on one side and ended up in the middle!

Our family from California have been here for the past week and it has been so much fun!! Camden got to meet his great grandma Ona. He loves her so much!! He would just cuddle right into her chest and stay there. He doesn't do that for anyone! We miss her already, she had to go home yesterday :(

Some of the other family is still here though. Deb, Jen and Laurie are still here to play play play! Somehow they have avoided the camera so far. We all went to the Zoo yesterday and Camden decided to make our family look like scrounges... After eating, he was so hot. He looked at me with a bright red face and then threw up all over me. It was great...

Then, I went to change his diaper and realized he had a blow out...it went everywhere but in the diaper!! So he ended up in a tee shirt and the diaper for the rest of the day! I think that was his plan because he was so hot :)

It was a hot long day for everyone and this picture says it all...

Smile!

Camden has finally started smiling! He has the cutest little smile, and every time he shares it with us we just melt. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to capture on camera! Here are a few pics...

He is such a sweet boy and we love him SOO much! We just wish he would be a little bit better at sleeping at night! Below is a picture of the typical...sound asleep during the day :)

A few firsts...

Here are a few of Camden's firsts....

First time in his car seat. He loves to sit in it, but hates to be buckled in unless we are in the car moving.First bath at home...hated it during the process...loved it after.

First time in the swing. This is the best babysitter ever!! He loves his swing.

First doctor's visit...he really hates the doctor!

First time hanging out at Grandma Cori's.

We really love our cute little boy!! We are still trying to get in a routine, but it gets better every day.

Baby Camden is Here!!

Well, we made it! Baby Camden is here! He was born at 3:00 AM on May 22nd. We had the c-section scheduled for May 23rd at 7 AM, but he just couldn't wait to come! I was actually having a dream that my water broke and I woke up all wet. I rolled over to Dustin and said, "I think my water broke." He very groggily said, "Are you sure you didn't just wet the bed?" I wasn't really sure, so I got up and went to the bathroom and that is when the contractions started. This was at about 1:15 AM. At first, they were not too painful, so we were just gathering stuff getting ready to go to the hospital. Within a few minutes, they had gotten extremely painful, and I didn't care what we didn't have, we were leaving. By the time we got to the hospital at 2:00 AM, I was dialated to a 5 and feeling like pushing. The nurses and Dustin tried to comfort me through the contractions, but I wasn't very nice at that point :) Dustin got yelled at a few times. My doctor got to the hospital at 2:30 AM and I was wheeled into surgery by 2:45 AM. Camden was delivered at 2:52! It was a quick process. So, even though I had to have a c-section, I experienced labor too!!

Anyway, both me and baby are doing well. I am slowly recovering and each day gets a little bit better. Me and Dustin are amazed at how much we already love our little boy and being parents is an adventure!! We are still working on getting any sleep at night, but hopefully it will happen soon. Here are some pictures of our little sweet heart!

Our new family!!

This is the day we left the hospital. Look at all that hair!! That is what we were most suprised to see!!

Look at those eyes! We love his bright eyes when he decides to open them!

Update on the pregnancy

Well, it has been a crazy week for us. Last Wednesday, we went in to have a check up and the doctor checked to see if I was dialated. When he checked, he told me I definitely wasn't dialated and that he couldn't feel the baby's head. So, we had an ultrasound done. I guess our baby is a little bit directionally confused - he is breech. His head is right up under my ribs and his bum is right where his head is suppose to be. So, the doctor gave me two options. He said we could try to turn him or we could just schedule a c-section. We decided that we wanted to try everything we could to have him natural, so I went into the hospital on Friday and the doctor tried to turn him. It was a very painful process, and unfortunately he wouldn't turn.

So, we are scheduled to have the baby on Friday, May 23rd at 7:30 AM. Of course this isn't what we planned on or expected, but we are just happy that he is safe and everything looks good. We just want him to be here, no matter how that has to happen. Unless I go into labor on my own, we can plan to meet baby boy Morrison on May 23rd!

Tired and Large

Well, I don't have any new pics to post, because I keep forgetting to bring in my camera. I am going to take pictures of the cute Moose nursery and I will post them. For now, I thought I would update you on the rough life of an 8 month pregnant woman. I really do love being pregnant and everyday is a new adventure!! It just comes with a lot of uncomfortable moments. Like when a foot seems to get right under my ribs and twist. Thats an everyday occurance. And when I get to feel hiccups six times a day...another joy!! Anyway, I am getting pretty large and pretty dang tired. I am trying to convince my boss to give me every Friday off until I have the baby, but its not going over too well.

So I thought I would share a little story about how Dustin obviously thinks and worries about me going into labor more than I knew... The other night, I of course woke up to go to the bathroom. Well, most normal people are able to throw one leg over the edge of the bed and the rest of the body follows. HOWEVER, when the center of your body is far bigger and far heavier than the rest of it, and you no longer have the use of your abs, things change. So, I swing my leg over the edge of the bed and about tear it out of the socket since the rest of my body stayed in the exact same place. I started gasping loudly in pain, and in two seconds, Dustin was on his hands and knees on the bed screaming, "Are you having contractions? Are you in labor? Are you okay?" I told him what happened and he seemed a bit miffed that I really was okay. No sympathy. Anyway, it was pretty funny to see him freak out so much at the possibility of me being in labor.

Cruisin' in Paradise

We just got back from the most amazing vacation!! The cruise was so much fun! It was a late graduation present to me. Here is a picture of Dustin and I with the ship in the background.

We stopped at four different places...Samana, Tortola (or Tortuga according to Dustin), St. Thomas and Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. All stops were so much fun!!! For any of you that we talked to before the cruise, you know well that the whale watching excursion in Samana was our most anticipated shore excursion. Below is a picture of me anxiously awaiting our boat ride out to the whales.

Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures to capture what really went on in that little wooden boat...in fact, we don't even have a picture of the boat because we were so distracted. Whale watching quickly turned into barf fest 2008. I was the first one to go...I blame it on the baby :)

Dustin was lucky enough to watch me throw up all over myself, so as soon as I had a garbage bag in hand and the little boat hand guy rubbing my back, Dustin leaned out the window and threw up all over his arm. From there it was a chain reaction...I think about 10 of the 30 people on the boat lost it. It was the roughest boat ride I have EVER been on...and I was sicker than I have EVER BEEN IN MY LIFE. It was not a good experience, but it is funny to look back on now. After we finally got the captain to turn the boat around, they spotted whales. So, most people in the boat saw whales, saw it wave its fin and splash. However, Dustin and I were still to busy barfing, so we missed it all.

Above is a picture of us and my parents in Tortolla...great belly shot of the baby! Boy, he is poking out! We went on a tour of the city and ended up at a beatiful beach. It was a great day, and we stayed on land the ENTIRE day!!

At St. Thomas, Dustin and I decided to venture out on our own. We did a little shopping in town and then went to the beach to relax. Below is a picture of me in the city by a neat little fountain.

The beach was amazing. It is called Magan's Bay and it is one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world.

Our last day at port was spent at the Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. We LOVED it!! We snorkled for a few hours, chilled on the beach, swam, ate, and shopped. How much better can it get!! The first time we were snorkeling, I looked down and saw this HUGE long white and black fish that was skinny and as long as me. I started screaming under water and swam to Dustin. Later, after describing the fish to my dad, he said it was probably a baracuda... SCARY!!! So, we swam with a baracuda. Dustin also saw three sting rays after I pooped out and we saw tons of pretty fish. Dustin also picked up some kind of bug that bit him all over...he is still itching!!

Overall, the trip was so wonderful. Unfortunately, neither Dustin or myself are very good photographers, so all pictures are kind of boring and posed...we didn't get much happening in action. This last picutre is us dressed up for dinner the last night on the ship. The ship was so amazing and we loved every minute of it!!
